The Hepworth Gallery, Wakefield

Very inspired by a trip to the Hepworth Gallery at the weekend. A spectacular hangover meant I could only take so much in..but I truly appreciated the amazing industrial feel of the building, the views, the colours, the light, the Winifred Nicholson Painting, Barbara Hepworths head drawings and Henry Moore's picture of the pit workers, stunning.

London Trip!

I had a lovely time in London with my friend Nicola last weekend. Came back inspired and rested. We mooched around to our hearts content, sheltered from the rain, watched Jane Eyre (amazing), I bought lots of animal print things and got my photo taken with the lord of flock himself, Laurence Lleweyn Bowen..but the less said about that the better..

Wanted to share this photo of a David Altmejd sculpture at the Saatchi Gallery on the Kings Road, it was beautiful, to me!
If you can get close up there is a mirrored staircase woven through it, and it was covered in quartz crystals..

We took a look at Brixton Village too, an old indoor market with small eating places, a beautiful example was Elephant, serving authentic Pakistani street food.

The nicest food experience was definitely the Gilbert Scott, the new Marcus Wareing restaurant at the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel. Great food in elegant surroundings. Lovely!

Forgot to say a Big Thankyou to everyone who voted for Gallery 339
in the Totally Locally Awards last month. It's been a very busy few weeks
& this could have something to do with it!

We were shortlisted in the top 5 shops, absolutely thrilled!

Thankyou to Totally Locally, a brilliant initiative which promotes local business.
The aim is to keep our towns thriving..isn't that what we all want?
You can discover new places on your doorstep you didn't know existed,
or let them know about the places YOU love the most.

Buying..

This weekend I went buying in London and had a great time finding new things for the shop..charm bracelets for summer, an amazing new jewellery range, Anne Taintor vintage humour cards, funky (pop colour) magazine racks, watch this space..after the dreaded stocktake this weekend new things will start to appear!

I also did a bit of mooching around and went for amazing Dim Sum at Japanese restaurant Yauatcha and fell in love with the supersize retro TV and the wallpaper in the Orla Kiely shop in Covent Garden..

What do you think..?
